Mutations are exclusively available to owners of "The Passing" DLC.

There are over 20 Mutations planned, each playable on all L4D2 Campaigns. The Passing also introduces a series of weekly game mode events dubbed "Mutations." These week-long runs of new gameplay modes range from "Realism Versus" mode to "Chainsaw Massacre," which gives all players chainsaws with an unlimited supply of gasoline. There's definitely more/forced special spawns on chapter 4, which is quite cheap, there's an admittedly funny event where 4 hunters jump from a rooftop, but again, too hardcore? Whilst I do think the redesign/alternate routes are really cool and creative, the difficulty of the map is tough to recommend to the casuals, and if you're looking for a fun game night with buddies, well if you have experience, give it a shot, otherwise avoid. The first game add-on for Left 4 Dead 2 brings the original Left 4 Dead (L4D1) Survivors down south for a meeting with the L4D2 cast, while delivering new single-player, multiplayer and co-operative gameplay for the PC and Xbox 360. I want to say twice the size of some of the bigger L4D2 maps in general, so if you die far in, too bad you're doin' the whole chapter again buddy! Maybe more checkpoints would've been nice, it goes back to being too hardcore in my opinion. As for the map design the chapters are looong. Also melee viewmodels are missing on this campaign, and can cause some polygon stretching.

Whilst I enjoyed it quite a bit I will say I think it's a little bit too hardcore? The lack of supplies throughout maps definitely can be an issue, so I'm not sure how I feel about it, it's not to the point where you're struggling for supplies, although on my server which has a few tweaks it certainly was. Thin supplies and a long way to go: good chance of running out of ammo and you might have to use secondary weapons The sewers were a blast to navigate through as well (watch out for the giant gaping hole.) On top of that, this map builds on the strengths of the original designs and expands on them. The creative twists on them are AMAZING and the train rescue was a breath of fresh air from the usual escape methods. The panic events are the highlight of this map remake, especially on the Church and Boathouse Finale levels. As a side effect of the redesign, co-op and singleplayer games on this map are lengthier and a lot more fun as well. I have recently started playing again and came back to express my love for this map and its deliberate design to give infected players more edge in versus play, making them very dangerous instead of being merely "road bumps" for survivors to deal with. I played this in 2015/2016 and I NEVER forgot the experience.
